10 year-old ice skater qualifies for British Championships

10 year-old Caitlyn Baxby from St Helens has previously been selected for the GB development squad in ice dancing. Having moved straight from level 1 to level 4 in Ice Dance since last season, Caitlyn found herself up against much more experienced and older skaters. Despite this she managed to qualify for the British Championships in her 1st competition at Lee Valley and has since finished in 3rd place at Deeside Opens and a remarkable 1st place at Murrayfield last month.

She has also been to Slough for a photo shoot and filming for promotional work with her sponsor TwoBirdsLondon showcasing their skate wear.

It’s going to be a busy few months ahead with more to come as she turns her hand to solo free skating in her next few competitions.
