St. Helens Sutton A.C. racing week started on Wednesday as Jon-Jo Doherty (3rd) Mark Liptrot (1st V55) and Greg Carns (5th V50) took on the first Horrock Hill Race with over 900ft of ascent over a 5.2 mile course.
Friday night saw a couple Sutton juniors take on the classic mile distance with Bobby Birkett finishing 3rd, followed by his sister Lilly Birkett who was 5th girl and Harry Griffiths in 20th. Chris Birkett was also third in the seniors 4 mile race.
Sunday was a big day of racing, first off due to the time difference was Matt Crehan and Jade Smith representing St. Helens over in our sister town of Stuttgart, Germany. Matt finished second in a tough half marathon with a new PB of 1:08.20 while Jade was 8th Woman and first Brit in the 7km (28:30) in 26 degree heat. In completely contrasting conditions over in Edinburgh, Amy Corfield and Tom Upton ran great PBs at the Edinburgh half of 1:39.05 and 1:38.05. Closer to home but in just as wet weather Barry Graney (1:34.56) and Leon Hill (1:36) took on the Liverpool RnR half.
Back on the fells Mark Liptrot (100th) and Greg Carns (178th) took on the 10mile Welsh mountain race which saw over 3000ft of ascent.

Sutton A.C. is open to all ages and abilities meeting at Sutton Leisure Centre track at 6:15pm every Tuesday and Thursday evening.
There is an adults beginners group suitable for those just starting out and the kids Acorn beginners group for those aged 8 upwards, there is a waiting listing for juniors so it is worth contacting the club via their Facebook page.
