Open Farm Sunday – free entry to 300+ farms

On Sunday 9th June, grab your wellies, round up your herd and get mooving to the annual LEAF Open Farm Sunday event, which is a popular annual event for people looking for a great day out.

About 350 farms across England, Scotland and Wales will open their gates to the public for various activities.

To find out if your local farm is participating, use the Farm Finder – it lists all the info for each farm’s event, including opening times.

Most events are free to enter (about 95% of them), but others might charge a small fee or ask for a donation.

If no entrance fee is mentioned on the website it shouldn’t be charging, although it’s best to check with the farm before you trot on down.

The activities vary at each farm – examples include lamb feeding, welly wanging, pony rides, egg collecting, sheep shearing, face painting, walking tours, and tractor rides (some may require a charge).

You might need to book ahead for some farms or activities so don’t be sheepish, check out the details online.
