Charlie Roberts Crowned UK Number 2
Saturday saw the young Charlie Roberts put on his England Vest for the first time as he headed to Swansea for the Home Counties International Championships, following his superb silver medal at the English Schools last weekend.
The start lists had an impressive roaster of the best Junior Boys 800m runners from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, but the St. Helens Sutton A.C. runner wasn’t afraid to commit early on with the aim of making the medal roster.
And with impressive running as always, Roberts made it an England 1-2, with his team mate Daniel Joyce taking the win, while Roberts in a close battle for second against Scotland’s Ben Sandilands secured himself the silver medal.
