St Helens council has paid out £7M in grants to businesses in need of help so far.
Businesses have been getting grants of up to £25,000 to help support them through the coronavirus outbreak.
St Helens Council has urgently been issuing Government grants of £10,000 or £25,000 through two schemes designed to help support businesses as they faced a period of closure due to coronavirus.
This includes bars, restaurants, small businesses and shops who have benefitted from either a Samll Business Fund Grant of £10,000 or a Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant of either £10,000 or £25,000.
So far the number of businesses that have already received their payment are:
Small Business Fund Grant: 576 – £5,760,00
Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant: 58 – £1,240,000
A further £1,895,000 is ready to be processed in the next day
There are still a small number of grants being processed and are due to be released as soon as possible.
