Children and young people across the borough can now enjoy a variety of free virtual activities to help them through lockdown after the launch of St Helens Youth Service’s Instagram page.
The account, which went live today (Monday 18th May) to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week, will feature a wide range of regular content to suit all interests; from mindfulness tips, yoga, arts and crafts, and scavenger hunts – to quizzes, discos, make up tutorials, and chats with qualified youth workers.
Throughout lockdown, the service has been engaging with service users through community outreach work which has seen staff drop off isolation ‘survival packs’ and play socially distanced games – but is now extending its offer to all young people in the borough aged 13-18, and up to 25 years of age for people with additional needs, through popular photo and video-sharing social media platform, Instagram, which has millions of users worldwide.
