A council service which works tirelessly to achieve positive outcomes for some of St Helens Borough’s most vulnerable children is celebrating after receiving a regional award.
St Helens Borough Council’s Adoption Team came out on top at The Cheshire and Merseyside Social Work Teaching Partnership Awards to scoop ‘Team of the Year’ in the children’s service category.
Open to social work teams, the award recognises services that have made a difference through their outstanding work with children and families, and comes just a matter of weeks since Ofsted found a number of improvements in the council’s children’s services.
“I could not be prouder of our team and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them on this award and thank them for the work they do,” said Linda Evans, St Helens Borough Council’s Assistant Director for Social Work and Community, and Agency Decision Maker for Adoption.
“As a service, we have come on leaps and bounds which is down to fantastic staff like our adoption team who are valued, not only by us, but by the children they support.”
