December will soon be here and in homes across the Borough, cardboard doors will be opened in the traditional countdown to Christmas. But others are choosing to reverse things, with a calendar which gives back.
The idea is simple; instead of opening the door to a chocolate or picture, you do the giving.
People put aside a donation each day, so they have a collection of goods ready to drop off in time for Christmas.
We’ve spoken to The Hope Centre and they’ve advised that the following items would be ideal for giving this Xmas. Selection Boxes, Advent Calendars, Sweets, chocolates, boxes of biscuits, cakes. Basically lots of xmas goodies.
When and where to drop off
Where: The Hope Centre, Atherton Street, St Helens, WA10 2DT. They are open from 9am to 4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
When: If you include an advent calendar please drop off your items as soon as possible in November, for all other items please aim to drop them off as early in December as possible so that they can be distributed during the month.
